That has been a longstanding project but I've definitely decided to take it out of the drawer...
I don't really know why this story has to take place in Scotland, I've never been there (and it's probably part of the answer)... But anyway, in my mind, it already does. In desolated moors imbued with old magical beliefs, in attractive and mysterious cities somehow gloomy after dark, in fiery stadiums filled with cheers, songs and never give up spirit...
That a was a performance night. A match between two top ranked teams. And a wonderful victory that left the whole city agog... But that was also a murder night. And a corpse was lying face down mere steps from the feating crowd. Throat cutted and a coin in his mouth. That night, a race against the clock began for Chief Inspector Mac Allister and his team to prevent other murders. And maybe to save their own lives...
Even though I think not to know Scotland has liberated my imagination for that story, I don't want my novel to be inauthentic. That's why I'm begging you for help and informations...
First of all, the action will be closely related to the life of a football club and I haven't decided which one yet... I'm looking for a team with strong community of supporters, legends, traditions ( I'd like to know, for example, which songs you use to sing in stadiums ... ), ... In other words, in which club would it be best for me to set up the action ...
Town of course is also really important... A good deal between old buildings and modernity would be great. Lots of night life maybe ... And anything you could think of interest !
And finally, I'd like to know what kind of relationships you Scots do really maintain with English people and football clubs :-)
That's all for the first novel post !!!
Thank you for helping me and sorry for my bad English but as a belgian, I'm gonna write the story in French, don't worry ;-)
